instead of counting candles, or tallying the years,
i want to contemplate my blessings now.
as my Birthday, i consider special people who love me
and who care, and others who've enriched my life
just by being there.
i think about the memories passing years can never mark,
experiences great and small
that made me who i am.
another year is a happy gift,
so as i cut my cake, i say...
instead of counting Birthdays,
i count blessings everyday.
